At the present time, protons at greater than 10 MeV are near 2 pfu. It is unlikely that the current enhancement will actually reach event levels of 10 pfu, although there is an remote chance this might happen. The source of this activity is unknown, but most likely can be attributed to a solar region which departed the west limb several days ago. No x-ray enhancements of significance preceded this activity, supporting the notion that the source region might be some distance behind the west limb occulting the x-rays. ** END OF PACKET WARNING (1/1) ** ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 19 Oct 94 16:39:17 MDT From: oler@ultrix.uleth.ca (Cary Oler) Subject: WARNING: Potential Satellite Proton Event Warning From: oler@ultrix.uleth.ca (Cary Oler) Message-Id: <9410192239.AA14554@rho.uleth.ca> Subject: WARNING: Potential Satellite Proton Event Warning Date: Wed, 19 Oct 94 16:39:17 MDT /\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\ SATELLITE PROTON ENHANCEMENT ALERT ISSUED: 03:30 UTC, 16 SEPTEMBER /\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\ ATTENTION: Protons at greater than 10 MeV became enhanced near 02:00 UTC on 16 September and are continuing to slowly rise.
